I recently had some experience with booking an emergency ticket for my friend who had to go to India due to his fathers death. I wanted to share some lesson learned during the process of reserving tickets. 1. If you are in real emergency and you need the ticket NOW, do not go to any travel agent outside of your city- You will have to wait for a day for them to overnight the tickets, so you trip late by one day.(I tried those malayalee agents outside of denver) 2. On an emergency you may be trying through many people/agents; But do not belive any one who gives you a 100% gurantee of a ticket(s) unless he can give you a confirmation number.(You can call the airline directly with the confirmation number and make sure you are going] 3. There is no emergency price for a ticket. Eveything depends on the demand/supply ratio. Always call at least two people at the same time so you can choose. 4. You can directly call an air line and book a ticket and you DO NOT have to pay them immediately by a credit card. (But usually the prices are high). Later you can ask a travel agent to issue the same ticket for you with a lower price in SOME CASES. ============================= Anyone please add to the list so all may benefit, thanks- Abraham
